Holidaying in Kelbra

Kelbra is located in a remarkable natural setting at the foot of the Kyffhaeuser mountain, right next to the lake Kelbra. Its attractive scenery invites you to relax, recreate and become physically active.

Many impressive historical sites like the old palatinate Tilleda, the Panorama Museum of Fine Arts, Kyffhaeuser castle and the Barbarossa cave are just a stone throw away and the surrounding nature provides a unique karstic landscape and a variety of leisure possibilities.

Kelbra offers a diverse range of gastronomy, enjoyable feasting and a distinctive sort of hospitality. It is the ideal starting point for excursions into the Harz, Kyffhaeuser region and the Goldene Aue.

It is conveniently located due to its proximity to the Autobahn A38 and the A71.

This exclusive holiday apartment was completed in 2013 and used to be part of a former button manufactory. The location is surrounded by greenery and enhanced by a view of the Kyffhaeuser mountain. The city center is conveniently situated within a 200 m walking distance and offers a variety of restaurants and shopping facilities among which a bakery, post office, bank and supermarket can be found.

Outside barbeque facilities and a playground in large open space are at free disposal of our (younger) guests. An arm of the river Helme, (chosen as river landscape in the year 2013 because of its biodiversity), runs next to the property. In spring and autumn 50,000 cranes break the skyline in leisurely flight. They usually insert a stopover at the reservoir and the fields and meadows in the neighborhood. Kingfishers, that live alongside the river, can be observed, too. Behind the house the nature trail Helme begins.

Motorcyclists enjoy riding the 36 curves of the Kyffhaeuser, these are a true highlight. On top of that the South Harz contains many more beautiful rides for day trips.
